Madam, - In the spring of 2002, a motion was passed at the Fianna Fáil Ard Fheis supporting the organisation of the party in Northern Ireland. Over two years have passed since then but no action has been taken. In that time we have seen the continued growth of Sinn Féin on both sides of the border while the SDLP declines and Fianna Fáil merely utters platitudes to people such as me who express an interest in joining the party.

How can Fianna Fáil justify calling itself "The Republican Party" while it continues to ignore Northern nationalists and republicans? The party must take greater strides to expand the organisation to the six counties in the near future. - Yours, etc.,

THOMAS MAGUIRE, Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh.
