Sir, - What with Seamus Brennan throwing away £700,000 of our money on shaming the name of Handel with Messiah XXI, Ms de Valera seeking £35 million for the performing arts, and Charlie McCreevy's cock-up of a Budget (a proper "Charlie" indeed), I can only conclude we have some right eejits in our Government. While we have children underfed, people sleeping on the streets in this cold, wet weather and any level of poverty - never mind the huge amount of poverty we have - it ill behoves these Ministers to fritter away our money on such unnecessary schemes.
Spend our money wisely, I say. Eliminate poverty. Use the Lotto money as well. I hope the next election will see these three eejits voted out. - Yours, etc.,
