Sir, – Arthur Reynolds (July 18th) asks us to ponder the gross value of fish taken by Spanish trawlers in Irish waters since we joined the EU. Is he suggesting that all those who now work in jobs created by our EU membership should seek retraining as trawlermen and trawlerwomen or as fish-gutters in marine factories? – Yours, etc,
