Madam, - Now is the time for a new flag that would truly represent the people inhabiting the island of Ireland, including more than a quarter of a million other Europeans.
We all know change is difficult but change we must: the Tricolour is repulsive to over a million and means nothing to another half-million.
Let us set another new trend in Europe by adopting the European flag (with a harp insert) as our own. The next referendum would do nicely! - Yours, etc,
