Flooding in Dublin

Last Saturday's short but heavy rainfall left many roads inundated with water, much of which remained in situ for many hours (due to submerged, non-functioning gullies, many filled with significant quantities of muck). At the height of the deluge, I saw an elderly lady desperately attempting to clear a blocked gully at her doorstep with her crutches. - Yours, etc.,
