Sir, - I write to praise a pleasing and creditable feature of Dublin. More than ever before, this year I have noticed very many window-boxes and hanging baskets of beautiful flowers on so many businesses in the city, in addition to the usual floral display by Dublin Corporation. They make a pleasant and agreeable sight.
While some of them show a variety of colours, others are formed of an array of the same colour. One city-centre pub has nine baskets of red petunias, while in Merrion Square there are seven matching window-boxes in a line of first-floor windows.
My congratulations to those people who designed and produced the floral arrangements, and to the firms which displayed them. - Yours, etc.,
