Sir, - If, as D.K. Henderson correctly reminds us (July 17th), a flag being flown in an inverted position can be interpreted "as a grave insult to the country represented thereby", should we not encourage our loyalist brethren to fly the Irish Tricolour upside-down as often as they like and wherever they wish? For them to do so would constitute an exercise of the freedom of expression which they so vigorously demand, and one which, despite the grave insult to us contained therein, our generosity should extend to conceding. - Yours, etc.
