Sir, – The latest in an apparently ongoing, annual increase in postal rates has all the hallmarks of blinkered, non-commercial, bureaucratic thinking.
The increased availability of (often more efficient) alternatives, such as email and courier services, was always a challenge to traditional snail mail, yet instead of meeting it head on, with increased efficiency and competitive pricing, our postal authority has resorted to the idiotic practice of continually charging more for less.
Have they never heard of the law of diminishing returns?
