Footpaths and tourists

Sir, – We recently enjoyed a holiday in west Kerry;  it was unfortunate that we were unable to enjoy the full walking experience of the Atlantic coast as it soon became clear we were risking our lives walking on roads without footpaths. The roads are so narrow there is hardly room for two cars to pass, never mind a bus.

West Kerry is not catering for potential tourists. We are not all hail and hearty hikers; a footpath would not ruin the magnificent vistas. – Yours, etc,
