Sir, – So sorry to read of Frank McDonald's retirement ("Reflections on Dublin", Magazine, January 31st). I wish him a well-earned and happy retirement. He has been such a marvellous ambassador for preserving Dublin's character and I am sure I speak for many when I say perhaps we did not appreciate him half enough.
