Madam, – Like many others, I didn’t know whether to be happy or angry at Bord Gais when it announced during the coldest spell in decades that it will cut prices in the near future. Given it is wholly owned by the State, shouldn’t it cut prices as of January 1st? All over the country people go to bed early wearing several pairs of socks because they cannot afford to heat their homes, while they are being offered comic relief with falling fuel prices in springtime. – Yours, etc,
