Sir, – Perhaps a spokesperson for the Coalition should explain why it is preferable to sell the State’s share of Aer Lingus to an an international conglomerate known for resisting any attempts to increase competition or reduce fares rather than sell to a homegrown Irish company known for making air travel affordable for the masses across Europe and beyond. Or, better still, explain why the shares need to be sold at all. – Yours, etc,
