Sir, - A suitable new location for the national theatre might be the GPO. O'Connell Street needs all the help it can get to generate the presence that is normal for the main street of a European capital. The Abbey Theatre, with its tradition and cultural entourage, would be a suitable centre point.
The Abbey would be a better experience amid the grandeur of the GPO. An Post does not need a city-centre location. This industrial distribution process would be better conducted in an industrial estate located near main road, rail and air arteries. Not many organisations can afford to have their headquarters in the centre of a capital city. The staff under 30 probably live or will live in the outskirts. - Yours, etc.,
