Madam, - It seemed particularly inappropriate to have the film Michael Collins, shown by TG4 on St Stephen's Day, partitioned by ads for poker.
The images depicted in Michael Collins are of poor people damaging their lives to better their society; the poker ads show poor people (in politically-correct racial measure, of course) being thrilled by computer gambling. How many lives does this practice destroy?
If we draw the line at cigarettes and hard liquor advertising, why is such a pernicious cynicism as credit-card gambling facilitated by a State agency? Have we no principles left? - Yours, etc,
