Sir, - I note the statement by the Incorporated Law Society of, Ireland condemning the handling of the Garda visit to a Dublin firm of solicitors. It is most heartening to us the ordinary members of the public to know that the firm concerned has (and I quote) "always been and remains in perfectly good standing with the Society."
It is very touching of them to allay our fears so quickly about a matter of such public concern. The weak, the sick and the elderly, indeed all of us can sleep easily, in our beds, knowing the attention the ILS is giving to standards in the legal profession. Hopefully, they have set an example their clients can follow. - Yours, etc.,
