Madam,- The Irish Timeshas often exposed and rightly criticised the nepotism, undue favouritism and cronyism so prevalent in Irish life. It was quite a surprise, therefore, to find Gráinne Faller (Transition Times, September 26th) advising transition-year students looking for work experience in the media to use their contacts - "by far the best way of getting a foot in the door".
