Madam, - What have consultant Mr Alexander Hodge, Rev Arthur Bullstring, Dr Marmaduke Stuff, Sir William Lofty and Archbishop Jonathan Flop got in common?
Well, they expect me to call them by their titles while they feel automatically free to call me "Angela". May I not go into my specialist and call him "Marmaduke"? Or say "Hello, Cyril" to the bishop in response to his "Hello, Angela"?
What's the rationale behind all this? It seems that snobbery is alive and well. - Yours, etc.,
