Sir, - The unfortunate truth concerning the Glen of the Downs is that the woodland and valley has already been completely spoilt by the present road, one of the main national arterial roads. The only effective measure which could save the area and even bring improvement would be the construction of a tunnel under the glen. This would return the whole area to nature and would provide Dublin and Wicklow with a truly beautiful country park. - Yours, etc., Richard Mann,
Lower Glenageary Road, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin.
