Sir, – As a doctor working in the national vaccination programme involved in the administration of booster vaccine doses, I share the views of Robert Carrroll and Ronnie Simpson (Letters, October 23rd) on global Covid-19 vaccine inequity.
As well as appealing to those receiving vaccines to support Unicef’s “Get a Vaccine, Give a Vaccine” campaign, I would appeal to the Government to actively support the Trips waiver on Covid-19 vaccines so that vaccine production can be significantly ramped up – quickly and cheaply.
We should know from our history what it’s like to be left behind – and for help to come too late and to be too little.
