Sir, - BF's request (September 14). in a review of Golo Mann's The History of Germany since 1789, that somebody should translate into English Mann's much praised study of Wallenstein is puzzling.
Charles Kessler provided such a translation, endorsed by the author, which was published in 1976. it is true that the English language version omitted the critical apparatus of the original work. - Yours, etc.,
