Sir, – It's interesting to note Michael Noonan taking such a dismissive view of the Greeks' hardline negotiating stance with its EU partners, and choosing to stand firmly on the other side of the fence ("Lenders grant Greece two-day reprieve", June 23rd).
I wonder is he suggesting they follow his lead of two years ago when he trumpeted a successful conclusion to his softly, softly negotiations to ensure the ESM applied retrospectively, allowing us to recoup the €30 billion we pumped into our ailing banks? Remind me again, how exactly did we get on with that? – Yours, etc,
