Madam, - I quote a report in your edition of August 18th: "The Green Party has called for a consumer boycott of Icelandic goods following the resumption of whaling by that country."

All very good. Whales are very important. But how can it be that the Green Party (and also the Labour Party presumably) has more concern and sympathy for Icelandic whales than for the lives of 6,000 pre-born Irish babies who are annually put to death in Britain?

Not merely no word of protest from them - but active promotion of this shameful killing as part of their political programme. It seems whales are more important than Irish babies. - Yours, etc.,
