Madam, - Further to the report in your edition of February 1st, we wish to inform you that there is widespread support throughout the community for the Wicklow County Council/Sispar plan for Greystones Harbour.
Just a few of the many clubs that support the plan are the Sea Scouts, the Ridge Angling Club, the diving club, the rowing club and the local fisherman's group. Many many private citizens also support the plan.
Greystones and District Chamber of Commerce supports the plan because of the social and civic amenities it will provide. We also see the huge potential to develop tourism and commerce from a marine perspective. The Irish Marine Federation, through chairman Brian O'Sullivan, has lent its support to the plan.
We feel it is imperative to highlight both sides of this argument. - Yours, etc,
