Madam, - With regard to your report of May 18th, "Air travellers' details to be passed to US under EU deal", I assume there is a reciprocal agreement with Mr Bush's government vis-à-vis intending transatlantic travellers headed this way. After all, keeping terrorism and terrorists from our shores is in everybody's interest.
However, if any undesirables were apprehended trying to slip through the net, I wonder if the Department of Justice has a place in mind for any possible detainees? Perhaps one of our offshore islands could be developed to offer the accessibility of Guantánamo, if not the comfort and conveniences of Abu Ghraib. - Yours, etc.,
ARTHUR DUNNE, Blackrock, Co Dublin.
