Madam, - Your edition of January 12th poses the question of what the UK government should do with the four Guantanamo Bay prisoners who are due to be repatriated.

Here is a radical suggestion. Why don't they charge the men with any crime they are suspected of having committed, send them for a fair and prompt trial, and sentence them to an appropriate punishment if found guilty? Meanwhile, regardless of whether or not the men have a case to answer, the UK government should also investigate the men's claims that they have suffered torture at the hands of the US authorities.
