Madam, - Michael J. Stokes's letter of May 12th warrants a volley of retorts from every letterbox across the country that received the manifestos full of false promises issued by the present incumbents in Government.
Mr Stokes informs your readers that "the Government is comprised of sensible men and women" and then in the same breath kindly notifies us that "the Opposition must deal in hard facts rather than mere speculation". Is this a wind-up?
Mr Stokes clearly hasn't followed the good advice of the one and only Mr Charlie Pride: "You got to stand for something or you'll fall for everything." - Yours, etc.,
Ms ELAINE BYRNE, Crablane, Coolkenno, Co Wicklow.
