Sir, – I was appalled to read (Home News, June 23rd) that the former minister for health, who presided over the chaos and partial dismantling and privatisation of our health service, has now joined the board of the Irish Hospice Foundation.
How did this happen? Who decided on her appointment – was it our present Minister for Health? Above all, does it mean that the excellent hospice movement is now facing a similar fate to that of the health service under our previous government? – Yours, etc,
