Sir, - I would be most grateful to any of your readers who couldsource the following extract from a poem which has been haunting me for most of my adult life. The lines I remember are as follows: "There'll come an eve to a longer day/ When you are tired but not of play,/ And wish the shadows would faster fall . . ."I have tried everything I can, including the Internet, but I can't even be sure if these are the first lines of the poem or not. I await a response in eager anticipation. - Yours, etc., Marian Rosenstock,Monkstown,Co Dublin.
