Sir, – It’s a crying shame that there’s so much wealth in the world and yet hundreds of thousands in Somalia are in danger of starving to death.
To see these people on our television screens, frail and weak and carrying their babies and walking for miles on end to get to food distribution centres, is truly heartbreaking.
Now is not the time for questions concerning the political system in that country.
Rather, Ireland, despite our present woes, must increase the amount of aid we’re giving these people right now. Tomorrow may be too late.
