Madam, - I read Hugh Oram's Irishman's Diary of November 27th on Audrey Hepburn's father with more than usual interest. Joseph Hepburn-Ruston was a member of the Third Order of Carmelites and used to attend most of the Sunday masses in Clarendon Street Church in Dublin.

One day, when I was a child, I was at midday Mass with my mother when she whispered to me that the man taking the collection was Audrey Hepburn's father. I remember looking at a tall man, dressed in a habit, who had Audrey Hepburn eyes. - Yours, etc,

Madam - I would like to point out that Audrey Hepburn did in fact visit Dublin after her father had passed on. I met her at the Westbury Hotel when I was producing a children's programme, Poparama. Although quite ill at the time, she was on a Unicef mission and we recorded her for the programme. - Yours, etc,
