A chara, - As teachers of Irish, members of Comhar na Muinteoiri Gaeilge are fully aware of the need for context, national and international, to enable quality teaching and real learning to take place. We fully support Medb Ruane's call (Opinion, August 18th) for an approach to history at Senior Cycle that will inform the present by an intelligent examination of the past and so, hopefully, shape a more understanding future.
Syllabus and examination modes do make a difference. That has been our experience.
