Sir, - I find that your paper consistently refers to Mr Michael Smurfit as "Dr" Smurfit. Mr Smurfit's doctorate is an honorary one. Most recipients of honorary doctorates realise that this honour does not entitle them to be called "Dr", and they do not attempt to deceive the unsuspecting by using the title. Mr Smurfit, as well as your editors, appears to be confused about this practice, and a correction would be appreciated. - Yours, etc.,
