Sir, - Am I alone in wondering where the Department of Health has found the money to sanction a brand new hospital for Tullamore? The existing hospital is understaffed. The Minister already has a brand new hospital in Tallaght which is crying out for finance and has to let staff go. The board of the hospital have had to watch their plans for incorporating new services to patients being put on the long finger and are probably wondering if they will ever come to fruition. Something here just doesn't add up.
What if Tallaght could come under the umbrella of the Midland Health Board? Then the Minister would have his new hospital, already built, in his constituency and his own Health Board area, a hospital he could be proud of - perhaps? - Yours, etc., Ruth Gill,
