A chara, - I am researching my grand-uncle Andy O'Sullivan who died on hunger strike in Mountjoy Jail on November 23rd, 1923. A native of Denbawn, Co Cavan, he was the agricultural inspector for the Mallow area for many years. He supported the anti-Treaty side during the Civil War and is buried in the Republican plot in Mallow.
My understanding is that he was in the 5th Battalion, Cork 4th Brigade during the War of Independence and I am trying to discover information about his activities or the activities of that brigade or any information on the hunger strike in Mountjoy. I would appreciation any information that anybody could forward to me. - Yours, etc.,
