Madam, - As a deaf woman and a regular user of Iarnród Éireann's inter-city service to Tralee, I have to depend on platform boarding and route information from helpful ticket inspectors.
On February 18th my train stopped at Mallow and, instead of proceeding to Tralee as usual, continued to Cork. There had obviously been an announcement about this as I noticed people disembarking. I had further communication problems in Cork. Having been misdirected by a ticket inspector I boarded the wrong train. All this would not have happened if there were proper signs.
Why are there not route signs inside train compartments and on each platform? As I cannot hear the announcements am I not entitled to know where to board, and if and where I should change trains to my destination? - Is mise,
