Madam, - Please convey my congratulations to Mark Brennock on his excellent column in your edition of June 10th.
I find it very sad - indeed absolutely appalling - that the judge, who is said to have a serious illness and is being treated in hospital, should be so unmercifully hounded by politicians baying for his blood and clearly enraged that the case against him collapsed as it did.
Mark Brennock is perfectly right. I am sure I am not alone among your readers in drawing some comfort from his wise and compassionate analysis of this complex and difficult situation. - Yours, etc.,
