Sir, - People Moving On, a cross-community initiative which works to support our peace process, has completed a people's audit of the implementation of the Belfast Agreement to date and is very pleased to report that over 80 per cent of the provisions have already been put in motion.

Earlier in the year we became very aware that only a few controversial provisions within the agreement were making the headlines but reminded ourselves that all the provisions were equally important. We therefore set about breaking the entire Agreement into individual clauses and researching which had been implemented, which were partially implemented, which were in progress and which had yet to be acted on.

The resulting report and chart were very positive and despite all the negativity which we have faced recently, much of what is proposed is actually in place, active and working for the benefit of all our people.

We are delighted to see the establishment of the Civic Forum and the first meeting planned for October 9th will allow us to report that 73 per cent of Strand One has been fully implemented.

People Moving On will continue to monitor the agreement as it moves from vision to reality. We look forward to reporting 100 per cent implementation and the truly historic opportunity for a new beginning which that foundation will give us. - Yours, etc.,
