Madam, – It was reported (Home News and Sport, August 18th) that the Killarney race meeting on August 18th was the first time in 37 years that the Queen of England had a horse running on an Irish racecourse.

However, according to the Horse Racing Ireland website, a horse called Spinning Top, property of the above, ran and finished seventh in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh on July 1st, 2000. Methinks a visit to the Tower of London beckons. – Yours, etc,
