Sir, – After some 20 years or so living in England, Roy Keane seems to have “gone native”, forgetting that life is not only about achieving but also about having fun and enjoying life. He should return to his native Cork more often, where the “natives” know how to enjoy themselves – as I have found on many occasions.
The Irish fans at the game with Spain, having seen their team lose against Croatia and being aware of the obvious outcome of the match, decided to face facts and therefore enjoy the occasion.
Incidentally, I was delighted to see the banner at the game with Italy, to-wit “We’ll sing if we want to, Roy”. – Yours, etc,
