Madam, - Might it not be more equitable for the Government to increase motor fuel tax rather than motor tax?

Motor tax could in fact be replaced completely by a fuel tax. This would mean that the more you drive the more you pay. The country would save on the costs of collecting motor taxes. Drivers would no longer have the inconvenience of renewing motor tax and there would be no need to enforce motor tax renewal. The environment might even benefit.

This could be a win-win policy for all concerned. - Yours, etc.,
