Sir, - I agree wholeheartedly with Mary Holland's opinion (August 9th). If Mo Mowlam wants to encourage integrated schools in the North, then let's have her back. Her previous sojourn here created a great breath of fresh air. The present Minister of Education has the same ambition. Let the two of them work together to encourage the formation of integrated schools, the best way forward to create a truly humane society.
As it is now, Catholic, Protestant and children of other faiths play happily together while they are too young to go to school. Then off they go to these segregated seats of learning where they are taught to hate each other by their respective religiosos. Utter madness! - Yours, etc.,
