Sir, – In response to Denis J Halliday (Letters, December 8th), I wish to add that the need for peace studies throughout the education system is seen as a requisite for Ireland to become designated as an Island of Peace.
Some training of teachers would be required. There is a limited amount of peace literature available for primary level pupils, and less for seniors, so research is needed. Is anyone interested in Ireland becoming an Island of Peace? – Yours, etc,
