Madam, - In the course of a recent address in Rome to members of the Irish religious community, the Taoiseach, Mr Ahern, is reported (Oct 30th) as saying that Ireland must not be blinded by material wealth.
Just over a year ago the Government supported and assisted the US-led invasion of Iraq.
At that time, members of the Cabinet justified this action by saying it was necessary to preserve inward American investment. - Yours, etc.,
