Sir, - We have to reduce the consumption of alcohol in Ireland. The ordinary Irish person has had enough. Death on the road, murder in our streets, family breakdown, all can be traced back to excessive use of alcohol.

Why is the law of our land being so blatantly ignored? People are dying in their hundreds, yet, government ministers continue to pussyfoot around the atrocity, being busy introducing new laws.

We don't need new laws. How many people have to die, how many more families have to be broken up, before our current laws on the excessive use of alcohol are put into effect? - Yours, etc.,
