Madam, - Kevin Myers (An Irishman's Diary, December 16th) says it's easier to walk than to write, and hence the recent march in Dublin. It cost me considerably more time, money and effort to be a marcher than to pen this letter, and I suspect that writing is less arduous for Kevin Myers than for most of us.
He suspects that marchers had a sub-text of wanting to limit immigration. I cannot speak for every marcher but can say that this is completely untrue for myself and my friends marching under the Labour Party banner. We marched for a fairer deal for all workers, irrespective of nationality. - Yours, etc,
IRENE ALLEN, Florence Terrace, Florence Road, Bray, Co Wicklow.
