Sir, - It was with some amazement that I read the comments of the President of the Gaelic League, Gearoid O Caireallain, who called teaching our native language to a certain section of the community - Protestants - a "disease".
This is offensive and, I firmly believe, unrepresentative of the feelings, in particular, of Irish speakers and members of the Gaelic League. These remarks should be withdrawn and do no justice to the fine traditions of the Gaelic League. - Yours, etc.,
