Madam, - I fail to understand how Edward Donaghy (July 8th) seems offended at the re-creation of Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper.
By his logic he should find the original masterpiece insensitive also.
As far as I am aware, the Catholic Church has never denounced it.
Perhaps it is the photographic medium in which is it presented that is the problem?

Again, I cannot say for certain, but I would imagine if da Vinci were alive today he would be in the vanguard of modern artistic techniques.
Paintings, pictures and films have all helped, not hindered, to keep the spirit of Christ alive. This photograph is continuing that work. - Yours, etc.,
