Madam, - I am a writer currently researching for a television documentary programme. If any of your readers have any knowledge of Gunner James Mason of The Royal Artillery, who died while a Japanese prisoner of war, working on the bridge over the River Kwai, could they please contact me?

I gather that Gunner Mason was 30 years old at the time of his death in 1943 and his parents were George and Elizabeth Mason of Sandyford, Co Dublin. I would be particularly interested in hearing from any living relatives.

I can be reached at promedia@indigo.ie or by telephoning Promedia on 01-6622500. - Yours, etc.,
