Madam, - On just one day (January 6th) I read in your paper:
(a) that the Dublin Port Tunnel was leaking profusely;
(b) that serious flaws had been found in sections of both Luas lines;
(c) that the National Parks and Wildlife Service had wasted over €60,000 purchasing unusable timber for a walkway in Connemara;
(d) that the OPW had constructed a fish pass which is causing the death of thousands of salmon on the River Nore.
The same paper contained a report that road deaths in Northern Ireland in 2005 were the lowest in more than half-a-century whereas, in the Republic, the number of deaths on the roads seems to be spiralling upwards out of control.
Does anyone know what is going on?
