Islamic dress code and schools

Sir, – The key issue is not what Muslims wear in schools. All publicly funded schools should have an ethos, uniform, crest, motto and furniture that are not aligned to any political, ethnic or religious group. Schools that receive no funding of any kind from the State should be free to have whatever associations they wish. The real issue is whether an Islamic dress code, or any other dress code, contravenes the rights of those who are expected to wear it. – Yours, etc,
